Fennovoima and Lehto Group have signed a preliminary agreement for the implementation of the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant’s administration building and plant office. The final agreement for the all-in contract is scheduled to be signed by the end of the year.
- We received several fine offers for both the construction and building services engineering work. Lehto Group’s development proposals and the offer as a whole led to the decision in favor of their company. Last year, as part of the bidding competition, Fennovoima started the design work of the buildings. Lehto Group will now finalize the design work and construct the buildings, says Juha Nurmi, director of Fennovoima.
The administration building and plant office will be used as offices for Fennovoima’s employees during the construction and operation of the plant.
Construction of the administration building will start in the spring 2019 at the earliest, after the locations of the different parts of the power plant within the plant area have been confirmed. The schedule for the construction of the plant office will be specified later. The total area of the buildings is approximately 17,900 square meters. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 30 million.
The administration building is the most significant individual building under Fennovoima’s scope of works. Titan-2, the main contractor of the plant supplier RAOS Project, is responsible for the construction of the actual nuclear power plant and its auxiliary buildings, as well as for assembling the subcontracting chain.
